1/31/2024 0 Comments Mtu nano enterprise![]() Personally, I'm not one for tailgates, but i know they do happen before big games, assuming the snow hasn't come yet (normally happens around Thanksgiving time) which if you like winter sports, tech is the place for you. Games are always fun and exciting, as our pep band and "official fan club" are just insane. As others have said, hockey is the big one. If you get bored up here, it's because you're not looking for anything to do. As well as with the smaller classes, and Labs, it is very easy to meet new people and branch out. Myself, I've had a very close group of friends all four years, many of which I didn't meet till I was here, but now can't imagine life without. There is a club or student organization for just about anything you can think of. In terms of social life, you can have as much or as little as you want. Currently, I am working with a company called nanoMAG to implement a nano magnesium alloy into ice hockey sticks to improve player performance. These Enterprises are essentially student run businesses that work closely with industry partners to work on real world issues while in school. If you want to, Rather than getting assigned a senior design project, you are able to join any enterprise, from clean snowmobile to consumer products, something is here that you'll enjoy. Tech also has its enterprise program which I am a part of. Many classes have associated Labs that provide great real life experience to your theoretical knowledge. If you ever need additional help, there is a learning center for just about everything to give you help where you need it. Yes, some are much better than others, but you're going to find that with any school. One you get past the freshmen classes, the classes are typically smaller so you get plenty of chances of one on one with the professors. I'm currently a fourth year Mechanical engineering student here at tech, so as far as education goes, I can't speak much for UW Madison, but techs education is great. Tl dr: Overall I love Michigan Tech, and wouldn't trade this place for anything.
